Counselling Practice
Barbara, a dedicated and experienced professional, welcomes you with open arms to her counseling practice. With over 10 years of working closely with youth groups, she has gained invaluable insights and a deep understanding of the challenges children, teenagers and young adults face in today's society.

What is the significance of having a counsellor?
When you understand that life isn't going the way you want or had planned, you find it difficult to make a life change, share your worries with friends and family, or you're burdened by keeping things to yourself or not having anyone to share how things are getting too heavy; that’s when a counsellor can step in and professionally assist you. My job is to help you better understand yourself, the challenges you are going through, and to always support healthy solutions you find for yourself. Some of your challenging experiences can be caused by many reasons, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, or uncertainty. The significance of having a counsellor isn't just about sharing what's on your mind. It's about cultivating the skills to manage your thoughts, decisions, and uncover your inner strength.

How many sessions should I aim for?
There's no one-size-fits-all answer to this. It's about how many sessions you feel you need and want to attend. Think of it as your personal journey to growth and self-improvement. Ask yourself this: Am I ready to take the first step towards my personal development?

How will I know if counselling is helping me?
You will know it is helping you if, at the end of a session, you can see yourself from a different perspective. This shift in perspective indicates that counseling is working effectively. Moreover, if you find that even when addressing unwanted memories and emotions, you remain motivated to continue working on yourself, it suggests that the sessions are benefiting you. This positive outcome is a result of your active participation and commitment to personal growth.
